Identification of 8 pathogens that are commonly seen in sexually transmitted infection (STI)

Product Detail

The STI-8 Real-time PCR Reagent (Sanity 2.0) is used to identify 8 commonly seen sexually transmitted infection (STI) pathogens in vaginal or cervical swab, which include:

  • Herpes Simplex Virus – Ⅰ (HSV-1)
  • Herpes Simplex Virus – II (HSV-2)
  • Trichomonas vaginalis (TV)
  • Ureaplasma urealyticum (UU)
  • Haemophilus ducreyi (HD)
  • Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG)
  • Treponema pallidum (TP)
  • Chlamydia trachomatis (CT)

This reagent employs probe-based fluorescence melting curve analysis, with the basic principles being as follows: a probe labeled with a fluorophore and quencher is added to the PCR system. During the PCR process, an oligonucleotide sequence that is complementary to the probe sequence is amplified. After the completion of amplification, a melting curve analysis is performed, with real-time monitoring of changes in fluorescence values. The specific melting temperature (Tm value), resulting from the hybridization of the PCR product and the fluorescence probe, can be calculated by determining the negative derivative of the fluorescence value with respect to temperature. This allows for the differentiation of the 8 STI pathogens within a single tube.

Additionally, the detection kit incorporates a human internal control (human RNase P) for quality control over the extraction and amplification processes.

The reagent should be operated on Sanity 2.0 System, the results are interpreted automatically.
