This kit is designed for the qualitative detection of the monkeypox virus from a variety of sample types, such as rash fluid, pustular fluid, blister fluid, serum, nasopharyngeal swabs, and oropharyngeal swabs. It serves as an auxiliary tool for diagnosing monkeypox virus infections in suspected cluster cases.

Principle

This kit utilizes a multiplex Taqman probe-based polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to enable the simultaneous qualitative detection of specific conserved regions of the monkeypox virus, as well as the human RNaseP gene (serving as an internal control), in a single reaction.

This kit is compatible with real-time PCR thermal cyclers that have FAM, HEX, and ROX detection channels. It is highly recommended for use with the following models:

• Bio-Rad CFX96
• ABI 7500
• Roche LightCycler 480
• Mic Real Time PCR Cycler
• MA-6000

For the other models, it is necessary to test the compatibility prior to use.
